3 first half goals did the damage for an impressive Penicuik side at Ferguson Park tonight. There was a good crowd out on a glorious summers evening however it was a tough night on the park with our almost entirely new squad still finding its feet.

With 5 minutes on the clock Duncan Smith awarded a penalty after the Welfare keeper had upended an opposing forward and Lumbert Kateleza sent the keeper the wrong way from the spot.

It was 2-0 on 36 minutes with a good finish from Penicuik trialist number 9 and Kateleza made it 3 on the stroke of half time finishing off a good move with a shot into the bottom corner.

Gary Small made 8 changes at the break and there was no further scoring in the second half.
