Nairn County 1 Whitehill Welfare 0

Whitehill were made to pay for a host of missed chances with a stunning strike from Jordan MacRae shortly before half time proving enough to win the game for Nairn.

The visitors dominated the opening half hour and should have scored only 6 minutes in when Mark Smith struck Stephen Fosters legs when one on one with the keeper. Gary Nicholson was causing the home defence all sorts of problems and he had 3 separate efforts go wide of the goal. He looked to have scored on 22 minutes but his goal bound shot was somehow cleared off the line by a defender. Smith then had the ball in the net but was flagged for offside. MacRae shot narrowly wide with Nairn's first effort on goal before Smith again found himself one on one with the keeper but he saved with his body this time.

5 minutes before half time the deadlock was broken. MacRae collected the ball 25 yards from goal and found the far corner with a bullet of a shot that gave Easton no chance.

Welfare again went on the attack and only a fantastic double save kept out Nicholson and then Jack Wright.

It was to be an equally frustrating second half with Scott Lucas seeing a goal bound shot tipped over and then Wright and McPartlin both hit the woodwork. In the closing stages Ryan McKenzie saw red as the home side held on to progress.
