U20s move joint top with crucial away win

Whitehill travelled to 2nd placed Cumbernauld Colts tonight and secured a vital 3 points that their dominant performance deserved.

With the Colts holding a high defensive line the visitors were causing them problems and on 34 minutes opened the scoring. Ciaran McKenzie found Bradley Barrett with a great ball down the left and he crossed for Declan Knox who steadies himself and scored. Moments later it was 2-0. Lee Barrett produced a great cross from the left and Declan Knox headed in his second. The Colts were handed a golden opportunity to half the arrears when referee Michael McCart point to the spot for something he had spotted in the Welfare area. Ross Jardine produced an excellent save though diving to his right and it was 2-0 at the break.

Just before the half hour mark the game was settled as a contest when Bradley Barrett was fouled in the box and his brother Lee calmly found the bottom corner of the net from the spot. A big well done lads.
