Whitehill Welfare can confirm that manager, Ian Little, has left the club to take up the position of assistant manager at Berwick Rangers.
Club Secretary, John Quinn, said, “The club were approached last night by Berwick and having given Ian permission to speak to his former club, he felt it was too good an opportunity to turn down. While we are naturally disappointed that Ian has left the club, we thank him for all his efforts last season in very challenging circumstances and wish him every success in his new role. We also thank Berwick for their professionalism in their dealings with the club.”
Commenting on his decision, Ian said, “The opportunity to rejoin Berwick Rangers came completely out of the blue last night and while leaving Whitehill wasn’t something I was thinking about, I felt that this is an opportunity I have to take. Even up to last night, I was up at Ferguson Park making arrangements for next season. I’m grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to manage Whitehill Welfare and whoever comes in to replace me will see that the club is well placed for the challenges of the East of Scotland League. This is a great club and I wish them all the best for the future.”
The Committee will now begin the search for Ian’s successor and a further update will be provided in due course.
